Hooply ("we," "our," or "us") is operated by a sole proprietor based in British Columbia, Canada. Hooply provides a fantasy basketball analytics web app that facilitates data analysis, roster insights, statistical projections, and league management tools for Yahoo Fantasy Basketball users. The Service is currently in beta.

This Privacy Policy describes the types of personal information we collect, how we use it, and the circumstances under which we may share it. By creating an account or using the Hooply app, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this policy.

2. Information We Collect

In the course of providing the service, we collect the following categories of personal information:

Account Information

• Full name, email address, and Yahoo account identifier
• Role within the platform (league manager or team owner)
• Account credentials obtained through Yahoo OAuth 2.0 authentication

Fantasy League Information

• League names, settings, and configurations
• Team rosters, player data, and standings
• Historical performance data and statistical records
• Analysis results and generated insights

Player Statistical Data

• NBA player performance data including game logs and season statistics retrieved from third-party sports data providers
• Calculated statistical metrics including Z-scores, injury risk scores, and Monte Carlo simulation projections (P50, P75, P90 percentiles)
• Injury status information retrieved from third-party injury reporting services
• Back-to-back game rest patterns and schedule data

Billing Information

• Subscription records and payment history
• Payment method identifiers managed by our third-party payment processor
• Fee schedules and subscription tier details

Credit card numbers and banking details are collected, processed, and stored exclusively by our third-party payment processor. Hooply does not store full payment card data on its own servers.

Technical and Usage Information

• IP address, device type, operating system, and device information collected during authentication
• Usage patterns and feature interaction data to improve the service

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

• Providing the service: Facilitating fantasy basketball analytics including roster analysis, standings evaluation, trade recommendations, Monte Carlo projections, and league insights
• AI-powered analysis: Processing your league, roster, and player data through third-party artificial intelligence services to generate analytical insights, recommendations, and projections
• Statistical modelling: Running Monte Carlo simulations and calculating Z-scores, injury risk scores, and performance projections using NBA player data collected from third-party sports data providers
• Authentication: Verifying user identity through Yahoo OAuth and managing account sessions
• Billing: Generating invoices and facilitating payment processing through our third-party payment processor
• Data synchronization: Connecting to the Yahoo Fantasy Sports API to retrieve and analyze your league data
• Transactional communications: Sending service-related emails (such as account setup, password resets, and billing notifications) through a third-party email delivery service
• Record-keeping: Maintaining financial and operational records as may be required by applicable law

4. Yahoo Fantasy Data

Fantasy league and player data is retrieved through the Yahoo Fantasy Sports API using your authorized OAuth credentials. This data is used solely to generate analytics and insights within the platform. Analytics may include publicly visible data about other teams and managers within your fantasy leagues (such as roster compositions, standings, and matchup results) as retrieved through the Yahoo Fantasy Sports API. Hooply does not use your Yahoo Fantasy data for purposes outside of providing the service.

5. Third-Party Service Providers

We use a limited number of third-party service providers to operate the platform. These include:

• Yahoo Fantasy Sports API for retrieving league, team, and player data
• A third-party AI analysis service (US-based) that processes league and player data to generate analytical insights and recommendations
• Third-party NBA statistics providers (including BallDontLie API and ESPN) for retrieving player game logs, performance statistics, game schedules, and back-to-back detection data
• A third-party injury reporting service for retrieving real-time NBA player injury statuses
• A third-party payment processor that handles all payment card data and payment transactions
• A third-party email delivery service that transmits transactional emails on our behalf

These providers receive only the information necessary to perform their specific function. We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information to any third party. We do not use personal information for advertising or marketing profiling.

We endeavour to select service providers that maintain reasonable data handling practices, but we do not control and are not responsible for the privacy practices, security measures, or policies of any third-party provider. You are encouraged to review the privacy policies of any third-party service you interact with.

6. Cross-Border Data Transfers

Hooply is operated from British Columbia, Canada. Your data may be processed in Canada and the United States. By using the Service, you acknowledge and consent to the transfer, storage, and processing of your data in these jurisdictions. Our third-party AI analysis service and NBA statistics provider are based in the United States. Data transferred to the United States is subject to U.S. laws and may be accessible to U.S. government authorities under applicable legal processes.

7. Data Retention

• Active accounts: Data is retained for the duration of your account and active use of the service.
• Financial records: Invoice and payment records may be retained for up to 7 years following the applicable tax year, in accordance with Canada Revenue Agency guidelines.
• Archived data: When a user ceases to use the app, associated data may be archived and retained as needed for financial record-keeping purposes.
• Deletion requests: You may request deletion of your personal data by contacting us. We will take reasonable steps to delete personal data that is not subject to legal or financial retention requirements.

8. Data Security — No Warranty

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. These measures include the use of encrypted connections, hashed passwords, and role-based access controls within the application.

However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure. We do not warrant or guarantee the absolute security of any information you transmit to or store within Hooply. You acknowledge that you provide personal information at your own risk.

In the event of a data breach or security incident, we will endeavour to notify affected users within a reasonable time, but we make no guarantees regarding the timing, method, or completeness of such notification.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Hooply and its owner, operators, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or relating to the collection, use, storage, disclosure, loss, unauthorized access, or breach of any personal information or data held within the platform.

Without limiting the foregoing, we shall not be liable for:

• Any unauthorized access to or alteration of your data
• Any loss or corruption of data, regardless of cause
• Any actions or omissions of third-party service providers
• Any failure or delay in notifying you of a security incident
• Any damages resulting from circumstances beyond our reasonable control

Our total aggregate liability for any claims arising under or in connection with this policy shall not exceed the amount you have paid to Hooply in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or fifty Canadian dollars (CAD $50.00), whichever is less.

10. Service Provided "As Is"

The Hooply app and all associated data handling are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory. We disclaim all warranties, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any data will be preserved, accurate, or secure.

11. Your Choices

You may take the following actions regarding your personal information:

• Access: You may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
• Correction: You may request that inaccurate or incomplete personal information be corrected.
• Withdrawal of consent: You may withdraw consent to the collection or use of your personal information. Withdrawing consent may affect your ability to use the service.
• Deletion: You may request deletion of your personal data, subject to any legal or financial retention requirements.

Your continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
